What We Believe

Our faith, our foundation, our future

Statement of Faith

At Weston Christian Fellowship Church, our beliefs are rooted in the timeless truths of the Christian faith as revealed in the Bible. We hold these convictions not as abstract doctrines, but as living realities that shape how we worship, how we treat one another, and how we engage our community. Below is a summary of what we believe — the foundation upon which our fellowship is built.

Our Core Beliefs

We believe the Bible — both the Old and New Testaments — is the divinely inspired Word of God. It is without error in its original form and is the supreme, final authority for all matters of Christian faith and conduct. Scripture is not merely a historical document; it is the living and active Word of God that speaks to every generation, guides every decision, and equips every believer for a life of purpose and godliness. At Weston Christian Fellowship Church, the Bible is the lens through which we interpret our world, our relationships, and our calling.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. This is the mystery and the miracle of the Christian faith — a God who is both one and relational at His very core. The Father is the creator and sustainer of all things. The Son is the Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and Sanctifier who dwells within every believer. Though distinct in person and role, the three are wholly united in nature, purpose, and will.

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and taught with divine authority. He was crucified under Pontius Pilate, died as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of humanity, was buried, and on the third day rose bodily from the dead. He ascended into heaven, where He reigns at the right hand of the Father, and He will return in glory to judge the living and the dead. Jesus Christ is not merely a moral teacher or historical figure — He is the Son of God, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

We believe that all people have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and that the consequence of sin is separation from God. However, God in His infinite love has made a way for reconciliation: through faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning work on the cross, every person can receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. Salvation is entirely by God's grace — it cannot be earned by good works, religious performance, or human effort. It is received through genuine repentance and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is the most profound truth we know, and it shapes everything about how we live together.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin, regenerates the hearts of those who believe, and takes up permanent residence within every born-again follower of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force, but a divine Person who guides believers into all truth, empowers them for godly living and effective service, and produces in them the fruit described in Galatians 5:22-23 — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. At our church, we depend entirely on the Holy Spirit for wisdom, renewal, and fruitful ministry.

We believe the Church is not a building or an institution, but the living Body of Christ — all believers in Jesus Christ across every denomination, culture, and generation. The local church is God's primary vehicle for making disciples, worshipping together, caring for the vulnerable, and sharing the message of hope with the world. Weston Christian Fellowship Church exists as one expression of this greater Body, committed to being a community where people encounter God, find belonging, and are equipped to live as followers of Jesus in every area of their lives.

We believe that those who follow Jesus Christ are called to live lives that reflect His character — lives marked by love, honesty, humility, generosity, compassion, and justice. Christian living is not about following a list of rules but about being transformed from the inside out by the renewing of the mind (Romans 12:2). This transformation expresses itself in how we treat our families, our neighbors, our colleagues, and even those who are difficult to love. We are called to be salt and light in our community — and that is exactly what we strive to be in Berwick and the Annapolis Valley.

Worship Style

Scripture & Worship

Worship at Weston Christian Fellowship Church is a beautiful blend of the traditional and the contemporary. We believe that worship is not a performance for an audience, but an offering to God — and that it should engage the whole person: mind, heart, and spirit. Each Sunday service includes hymn singing that connects us to centuries of Christian tradition, alongside contemporary songs of praise that express the living faith of our own generation.

Scripture reading is central to every gathering. We believe the Word of God has the power to transform lives, and so we read it, preach it, and apply it together with seriousness and expectation. Prayer is woven throughout our worship — both planned and spontaneous — creating space for honest conversation with God as a community.

Communion (the Lord's Supper) is celebrated regularly as a community act of remembrance and renewal. We invite all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ to participate at the Lord's table as an expression of shared faith and belonging.

Most importantly, our worship is a space where all are genuinely welcome — whether you are a lifelong churchgoer or walking through our doors for the very first time. Come as you are. There is room for you here.

Baptism & Communion

Water baptism is a joyful and public act of obedience and declaration — an outward expression of an inward transformation. At Weston Christian Fellowship Church, baptism is celebrated as a significant milestone in a believer's journey of faith. We practice believer's baptism — meaning baptism follows a personal declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. It is a community celebration: the whole church rejoices together when someone takes this step of faith.

Communion, or the Lord's Supper, is observed regularly in our services as a powerful act of remembrance. In sharing the bread and the cup together, we remember Christ's sacrifice, proclaim His resurrection, and look forward to His promised return. Communion is not a requirement for belonging to our community, but an invitation extended to all who have placed their faith in Jesus. We share the table with gratitude, humility, and great hope.
